Ill be heading out to Durango for first rifle season with Taylor here in about a hour or so. Ill post updates as to how the hunt is going when Im able to.

Just be careful to mind the DFW traffic....take it slow and easy. Then, once you get to around Decatur, it'll be smooth sailing till you see the Rockies. I love that drive from Espanola thru Chama and into Pagosa. Much prettier than going through Bernalillo and Cuba, IMO.

Read where lots of elk hunting in Colorado was stopped, due to the government shutdown. Hopefully this won't affect you.

Read where lots of elk hunting in Colorado was stopped, due to the government shutdown. Hopefully this won't affect you. He is hunting a 16k private ranch.

Thanks, Im meeting up with taylor soon, Ill keep this thread updated when Im able to do so at night. Hopefully Ill get some nice pictures through my vortex razor spotting scope with my phone and hopefully video aswell.

I saw that wolf creek had a pretty good snow overnight. Probably rain in the lower elevations though. Good Luck!!!

I saw that wolf creek had a pretty good snow overnight. Probably rain in the lower elevations though. Good Luck!!! Just talked to Taylor...8" of snow at camp..and melting hope they brought gaitors. Should be a great hunt if they got 8" @ 7000' means high country got hammered and should move big pulls down lower

North of chromo You're right hard to beat that drive.
