I own a Kimber Custom II and I also own a sig 1911 and there is no competition! The Sig shoots circles around the Kimber...literally! While the Kimber shoots 10 out of 10 in the bulls eye the Sig shoots 10 of 10 all around the bulls eye!
I would not trade my Kimber for anything! It is THE most accurate pistol I own. As for jams I've never had it jam on me! The Sig tho hasn't either but it just doesn't shoot as well.

Of the 3 you listed, I'd be picking up the Springfield. Otherwise, as stated above, check out Ruger and STI. FiremanJG, sorry to hear about your troubles with them.....

I have all three Kimber has around 1k through it not one mishap. They all run great the Sig took me a little bit to get comfy with seem like a little different grip angle. My Springfield is the LW Champion Operator and I will have to say it is sweet. It would be a very hard choice to me.

Thanks for all the info. It's gonna be a tough decision for sure. I may be leaning for towards Springfield or Sig, not sure. I figure I'll just have the guy pull out a handful I want to look at, compare them side by side, and make a choice.

Another thing to consider is that Sig, Ruger havent been making 1911s for that long. IMHO they just jumped on the bandwagon and that alone would drive me towards another manufacturer. Thats just me though.

Never shot the Sig. And the only Springfield I shot was a Mil-Spec base model. And it was a piece of junk compared to the 3 Kimbers I've shot (although admittedly, those 4 guns aren't anywhere near the same price point). Kimber makes an awesome 1911. Crazy accurate, easy to shoot, great trigger. If I ever buy another 1911, I probably won't even consider anything other than a Kimber.

I have a STI Trojan and it is awesome! I get to shoot a lot of different 1911's, and short of going Wilson/Nighthawk money the STI is the way to go. $1200 will get you one.
