need to know about pvc pipe on feeder legs, checked archives on site, was talked about but no specific instructions, how long should I make the 4" pipe, how to attach it so it spins on em. Had varmint cage they reached thru and pulled the spinner plate off and emptied feeder. thanks for the info.

Get you an eliminator spinner plate to help out. Then set you some traps to manage the coon problem. Managing the numbers is the only way to help out longterm. Copy and paste this in the search tab: PVC pipe feeder legs

Good advice on the eliminator plate. I can tell you first hand that the 'Shark Teeth' spike strips didn't work for me.

I cut my pvc about 3-4 ft long, drilled a hole to except the hook, and used a bungi cord atched to the pvc and the other hook to the top feeder legs. You need to duck tape it or wire it to the leg on top, or when they fall off, and they will fall off,it will lanch the pvc upward and the top hook will come off the leg. Its a great sport..

Is the eleminator plate the one that has the chain and it locks flush when not spinning? I saw one the other day and it looked great but was 40$...I would pay for itself in long run though.

How I control raccoons is I buy poison (Golden Maldrin) and mix it with coke. I place it by the feeder in a pan. Works well.

I have caught 7 coons in three sets using Dukes dog proof traps. Ordered then on line. Started with tuna and corn, last night just threw some protein in the bottom, same results. Highly recommend them.

Hit them hard with Duke traps. What you do not catch will leave you alone for awhile. When they do come back, rinse and repeat.

I have caught 61 coons year to date with the Dukes. Went for about 45 days in late summer without catching many but caught 18 in the month of October. They are moving in again for some reason. I caught 27 coons the last 6 months of last year with 2 possums and 2 skunks.

So how did you deal with getting the two skunks out of the traps without getting sprayed or them dumping it when you shot them? I haven't caught and yet but really hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it. Thanks

In two days nothing left but the smell then reset trap again.
