This is an old knife, that I found in the late 60's... My father had a deer lease in Gordon Texas...I was setting on a cliff, to watch a low water crossing... I looked down between to big rocks, and there it was... No type of handle, just the blade... It has no holes to even mount wood or bone handle...It may have been wrapped in leather or raw hide...The old man that owned the place was 85yrs young... He said that his father talked about buffalo in that part of the country...The knife has no markings, and is about 3/16 in thick and over 14in long... I my use some whitetail antler, for the handle... It will make a great brisket knife...

That is neat. If that knife could talk.

What a find! With a story and a secret wrapped into one find!

I wonder if that handle was ever longer?

Has the steel been hardened? You can take a file across the edge and tell.

If it's been heat treated you can still drill holes with a solid carbide bit - just keep oiling while drilling cause heat will snap the bit! Cool find!
