Hi, my name is Tyler. I'm moving from Georgia to Texas in a month or so and am new to the forum. I am going to be living around Waco and was wondering how the gator population was in that area and how the public land hunts were ran. I've done some gator hunting in Georgia and really enjoy it. From what I've read Texas has 2 different seasons, it appears one for private land and one for public? About how long does it take to get a Gator tag for the public land hunts? Thanks for the help.

Ok thanks for the info. So from what I gather in core counties the state issues tags to land owners? If you do not own property in a core county can you still get a tag to hunt them on public land or do you have to find a landowner and get a tag from them?

Drawn hunts are probably your best bet
