I would stick with a four year old deer. He needs a couple more to reach his potential. That said, on a low fence place where someone else is apt to shoot him I might let an arrow fly on him.

That 10 pt looks like a baby 2.5 to 3.5 at the most. He will be monster but it would bard to pass up on a small property.

I definitely wouldn't consider the 10 point a baby by any means. The first picture you posted of him shows a pretty good pot belly.
I would say 4.5.

Baby was the wrong word. I still say 3.5.

He does look very young in that velvet pic. We have had a lot of rain this year so maybe he just fattened up. Does have a pot belly thats why its hard for me to call him younger than 3. The place is over 19,000 acres so we'll give him a pass probably.
What do y'all think about the 8?

Top deer looks mature and the bottom deer still looks like a middle-age deer except for that pot gut. He put on some weight in 6 weeks or so. I would like to see a pic of him in about a month to see how he looks going into the pre-rut. He could have us fooled though.

If the top 10 and bottom 10 are same deer, everything I know about scoring goes out the window

If the top 10 and bottom 10 are same deer, everything I know about scoring goes out the window What exactly do you mean? Definitely the same deer....notice the slightly inward curving G3's and G4's, and the kicker on the front of his right brow tine. By the way....I think he's either 4.5 or a VERY fat 3.5 year old, which is entirely possible.

I believe hes the same, just makes me wonder how well i can age a deer based on a picture. He looks way older in the top pic to me

I know its the same deer unless we have identical twins and they both hang out with the same 8 point. I get what your saying though he looks like he put on 50 pounds since mid august. I was second guessing myself also.

Man, that sucker put on some weight in 6 weeks!!! I have always had a hard time aging in Summer months, but my guesstimates on the age between the two pictures wouldn't have been greater than 6 weeks without the date stamps.

"WOULD have"...typo on IPhone. My guess between ages WOULD have been greater than 6 months.
