Well, after months of searching and looking and thinking, I finally decided to wait for a while before buying a new gun, But went to Wal-Mart this morn to handle some Business and browsed the Guns, found a Rem 700 ADL 270 for 325, went to work did a little research online and found a 40 dollar rebate, I couldn't pass it up, 285 for a Rem 700 270 is as low as I've found, what do ya'll think, is that a steal, good deal, Ok, or not a so great deal? Either way I'm excited and have work to do before Nov 1.

got the scope mounted and shot it in today, I like it a lot, super glad i did it

after reading this thread my little bro. went to walley world and bought the same rifle in 270. its a good deal, the one he got came with a scope, dont know how good it is but will find out in about an hour.

Thanks guys, I really didnt buy it for political reasons...BUT, I have heard that obama supports an astronomical increase in ammo tax, and we all know he is a banner, I didn't know they sold the 700 until recently and looked into the 770, but my research and questions here led me back to the 700, plus my dad has a 700 BDL that has been dead on great gun all my life, and I have killed several deer with his gun....this deal has a rebate of 40 on the gun and 5 bucks a box on the ammo, i bought the max 2 boxes for the rebate, and shot a box today...fun stuff

Walmart sells more guns than they display. I bought my Rem. Sendero in 7 mag. from them. They have a book at the counter you can order from. I searched for a while and they were about $50 cheaper than anyone else. It only took a couple of weeks.
