That is the question ! Trying to figure if I should wait or go ahead with palnting food plot. Looks like rain Sat late and Sunday morning but then dry next week. Dont want to waste seed for birds, it coming up then dying. But also needing to get in, thoughts ?

Planted mine yesterday, now I'm hoping for rain... is this what farmers feel like?

I planted all of my stuff last week before the big rains came. I wanted to try and get in and get out before bow season started up.
S.A. Hunter I was talking to my grandpa trying to figure out when to plant and how and all the other stuff worried about getting rain then getting to much rain and what not. He turned to me and all he said was "now you know how farmers fill, except your doing this for fun and their making a living". Wise old man, lol.

Longhorn, I couldn't even imagine how much stress they have to deal with. Farmers get all my respect and appreciation.

I had my plots planted a few weeks ago, hoping they germinated with the rain we got last week and this weekend rain helps them along. Looking ahead, there is currently rain in the forecast for next weekend. It could make for some good plots if the rain hits about weekly....

Do it! Unless its pouring down rain I am going to sacrifice hunting time and plant as much as I can on Sunday and then finish up next weekend.
Having said that, shot placement is key and there is only one level of dead. Us east Texans can't afford turquoise and elk ivories for jewelry. So we use hog tushes and coon peckers.

I got mine in before last weeks rain and some of it has already popped. I will be over the moon if we get more rain this weekend because that will give us a running start and I might not have to buy so much protein...almost 500 lbs in the last week from one feeder and yes it is fenced with Houg panel. Fat healthy deer.

Went out yesterday to check on my plots and feeders. As mentioned above, my plots were in in time for rain last week. Happy to report I have a good germination at this point and there is rain falling today, so double thrilled! Gotta keep the rain coming in with regularity, it looks like an early forecast is showing rain for next weekend too.... Praying for good rain today and hope the plants don't get grasshoppered!
