I want a camera that will last more than a year.
It's the time spent in God's creation with family and friends making memories that counts.

I wanted the same. I bought cuddebacks and havent had an issue. Another forum member let me borrow a primos truth cam I believe is the model. Im pretty impressed with it for half the price of the cuddeback

get a COVERT! they are awesome. my buddy has had his out since July, and his batteries are still at 80%. that's on the cam that is not set for video. The other cam, the 60 Black is set for 15 sec video and he has to replace batteries every 2 months...he gets hours upon hours of video every week. These cams are between 150-300, but last forever, are easy on batteries, have megapixel settings for various applications. I have been through all those "Under $100" cams and have gotten sick of buying new ones every year. I do have a Primos Truth and i am satisfied with it, it takes great pics, but i have only had it a month. i'll be picking up a covert tomorrow.

I truly believe it is a crap shoot. I have cameras I have been running for 3-4 years and a different camera, but the same model, craps out in 3-4 months. I run anywhere from 10-15 a year of all different models. The older model Primos Truthcams have impressed me. I have a 45 and 35 I bought used 3 years ago that are still my most reliable. I have a M80 that crapped out, but two others that have been flawless. Two years ago I bought a Bushnell that is still going strong. The Moultrie IR55's are pretty much disposable, but I have one that is around 4 yo I believe. My longest lasting camera to date is the old Moultrie 45 (I think. The one that had issues with the display screen). Good luck

I've got one TruthCam35 that has been in near continuous year-round operation for almost four years now on a mesquite tree. The only failure that I've had of any sort out of the three that I own is the buckle on the strap of the old mesquite-tree cam broke last year, so I have to tie it to the tree. The pics are good and battery life is awesome compared to my old Bushnell. The current batteries have been in the camera since July and still show 70% while averaging around 300-400 pics/week. I just picked up a Scoutguard but it's only been out a few days in a low-traffic area, so I can't say much about it yet.
Old age ain't for sissies!

I agree about the Truth cam, I have the #35's, #46's and # 60's going strong in the field for 3 years now. Bought a Ultra 46 this year to try out.

bushnell trophy cam. reliable. good battery life nothing else to it. going on 3rd season I have 5 bushnell trophy cams going nonstop from July through the end of February and so far haven't had any issues and the battery life has been very amazing. I put fresh batteries in last year and never changed them until I took them down and was averaging about 1500 or more pictures per camera per month. I had some of the older Moultrie Cams that were indestrucible, but the new ones haven't held up at all so I phased them all out with Bushnell and haven't been disappointed. It seems to be a matter of preference now between the better models. Do you want a flash, IR, higher quality resolution for videos, etc? This website is pretty informative as well: http://www.trailcampro.com/trailcamerareviews.aspx
Having said that, shot placement is key and there is only one level of dead. Us east Texans can't afford turquoise and elk ivories for jewelry. So we use hog tushes and coon peckers.

I have a stealth cam "rogue" and am using 12 volt battery with a solar panel. The camera is 3 years old and I am having trouble with the battery discharging. The solar panel is in a shaded area for about 2 hours daily. I would think the 12 volt battery should last for a while without a solar panel. Anyone have this experience?

Is your panel facing west? Turning mine west seemed to have fixed my problem. Of coarse trees make a big difference. The sun has to be able to shine on the panel for several hours a day.
It's the time spent in God's creation with family and friends making memories that counts.

No the panel faces the south, I will double check the west to see if their is more light. I am thinking there will be too many trees. Thanks

Out of all of the cameras that I have tried the Primo's TruthCam 60 has been the best. The detection range on it has been amazing. It is overlooking a very large field and it has picked up raccoon's and armadillo's at 30+ yards. The pictures are very good and it has lasted 8 months on a set of batteries taking a lot of pictures.

Another vote for the Primos, the batteries last forever! I've had the same set in for a year and they are finally at 20%. It's easily had 15k pics on this one set of batteries.

Yes sir I have read other post indicating the Primos is very good and the batteries last. Have seen some nice photo's on this forum that came from Wildgame cameras. I know they have a low end and probably a higher end as well.

This one MOULTRIE M80XD Mini Infrared Digital Trail Camera Great battery life, especially if you use the lithium style batteries. Be sure to set your camera up facing north or south to get the best possible shots and help illiminate whiteout/blackout type pics.
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
