I doubt he would have the thing crawling all over his arm if he thought it was venomous.

Just a little baby Texas Rat snake. Fed it a couple of small hamburger balls which it ate so I'll keep it for a while...

I'm always catchin and releasing. Gonna add to my current collection: 1 Texas Rat [now 2]; 1 California King; 2 eastern rat snakes; 1 bull snake; 2 grey-banded kings; 1 southern copperhead; and 3 western diamondback rattlebugs!

If my aunt knew there were that many snakes in one place in town, she'd leave Fairfield so fast she'd create a vacuum.

Cool looking critter! They have so many variations sometimes it is hard to tell. Wife picked a baby up yesterday who got a slice from the mower. Concerned he wouldn't make it. Didn't look to bad, just set him back in grass to hopefully grow up and do his good work.

I've caught some snakes with some pretty good scars. I bet he makes it.

Yes it is true, venomous will have cat eye pupils, on a pit viper you also cannot see the eye from overhead but you can on non-venomous.

It works around here. I wouldn't try that in some foreign country.
