the alcohol (food grade) foggers are much more effective at producing the desired fog effect. Dry ice gives off Co2 in high concentrations when consolidated enough to produce noticeable fog.. Definitely wouldn't want to do it in an enclosed space.. And honestly, by the time you buy enough dry ice to make it usable, this machine would be less expensive.. http://www.partycity.com/product/ground+...=31-232994841-2

I would much rather have that ^^ machine than some dry ice to deal with and dry ice wont last very long. That machine will last a long time and the juice you put in it will last forever in the bottle and is a lot safer. The fog juice isn't meant for human consumption but neither is dry ice if your wondering.

My in-laws put dry ice in water for a Halloween party one year. Had a couple bowls through out the house. The Co2 sensors went off after a couple hrs.
How are you gonna shoot a squirell if you're lookin at your feet?

Dry ice also works much better and produces much more fog if the water's warm instead of cold, and since the ice makes it cold you have to have a way to keep heating it up.

We used to fog up the back room at the grocery store when I was in college. We'd drop all of it in the mop sinks and run a little hot water.

Me and a bunch of buddies rented a unit running on glycerin back in the day of "air band" contests...LOL...those were the days. We sent off alarms in the cafeteria and caused the end of the show...guess we had it set a bit high.
Biggest word of caution with a glycerin unit...to much fog in a small area makes the floor slicker than snot...

We have a fogger but the fog is thin, and rises into the air. Way back in the 80,s some older friends made a BIG dry ice fogger with a 55 gal trashcan.
I'm thinking 5 gal bucket...

Dry ice and water makes an excellent bed bug trap/detector. They are attracted to the C02. They think its a living being and come running. Put it on a bowl placed on a paper plate or other flat surface covered in talc. They get stuck in the talc. There is your useless dry ice tip of the day.
