Rancher just addad a new stock tank, 100 yards from my stand, about 2 weeks before bow season opens. How will that affect me?

If it has water in it might be good.

We had a tank dug a couple years ago and it didn't seem to affect the deer much at all. We sat blinds a short distance away and they looked every so often, but large noisy slow moving equipment doesn't seem to bother them too much in my opinion. Also we saw deer there all the time afterwards, I think they smell the fresh earth and come looking.

Yep, seen more deer from a tractor than I can count.

Won't do anything but improve your hunting. Besides water it will have fresh growth around the water edge in the future that will draw in deer.

Tank dams are great places for blinds. You can have a raised blind and still be on the ground. grin

A different pickup or a different ATV will get the deer's attention faster than a piece of equipment or even digging a new tank.

As others have said, it's a good thing. Could be a real good thing depending on how much other water is around you.

Besides the immediate benefit of attracting deer, you will also see other wildlife visit the tank on those long sits in the stand. And, having a good water source close by is good if you plan to feed protein in the future.

It might be a very good thing if it's the only water around. There are a lot of dry places these days.

I don't think that's a good thing! I hate corn buzzards almost as much as hogs.

Water up always,

Teach them second... to love their family.

Third, teach them to hunt & fish... and by the time they reach

Would not affect anything here because it would still be dry.
