Any one here try their luck in getting a stand to hunt rifle/archery at Camp Bullis today? No luck at my end so now a year of no white tail for me this season. It seemed like over 150 people showed up for the drawing.

Don't fret, just drive around Hill Country in the dark with your Ranch Hand bumper. I guarantee you a deer.

I hunted there for several years with litttle luck. The alternative is not getting to hunt for some. I ended leasing a place in Uvalde, but its 3K a year. Camp Bullis sure was cheaper!

First time in 30 years my dad did not get drawn for a bow stand. Since the Air Force took over, they ruined everything.

I started hunting at Camp Bullis in 2009. Since 2010, and every year since, they change the way hunts are conducted and in 2010 the type of caliber that are permitted to hunt on base. If I could afford a least I would do so in a heart beat. I would like nothing better than to leave city life for a couple of days and rough it out in a tent, in my truck, hunting blind or small cabin. Well, there is hope, Power Ball is at 400 million. If I win that I'll buy the YO and invite all the members of this forum to a hunt.

Things have changed...however simply stating that the Air Force has ruined everything is reaching IMO. I disagree with the fact that Active Duty people no longer have priority to hunt on base. I disagree with no longer having a volunteer program. Not all these decisions were made just because the Air Force took over, and many were set prior to becoming JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO...(notice not AIR FORCE SAN ANTTONIO) join means all branches has a say in what goes and what does not.....

When it was an Army Base, things were great.. it was an easy process, minimal restrictions, and a lot of happy hunters. Since the Air Force took over, it is a difficult process, too many restrictions, and a lot of unhappy hunters. No offense, but you have'nt been in the service long enough to know how things were before.

The Air Force was the first to NiX hunting on Medina base so its not really a stretch.
THEY GOT RID OF GOD TO MAKE ROOM FOR QUEERS, YOU DIDN'T THINK HUNTING WAS GOING TO BE SCREWED WITH?
