I normally just lurk, but I am very satisfied with the outcome of my recent project and wanted to share. While dove hunting last week, I got tired of dragging the little plastic wheels on the stock cooler. So I upgraded.     The idea hit me while buying new wheels for my wheelbarrow. I braced a 1" pvc pipe to the old wheel well. Cut a 5/8" steel bar to fit, added new wheels and tires, and caulked it in to seal it. 2x4 on the other side to level it out. (I wanted something that looks better but didn't want to spend money.) Found some old chain link from when I tore the shed down and cut it to keep the lid from falling off. Added some metal hinges and a new front lock, all also caulked in place. All under $20, the only drilling into the cooler that I did was the braced for the pvc that are into the insulation on the bottm. All of this should make the cooler last a lot longer and save me a lot of effort when dragging it around.

Nice! I was looking at a yeti the other day in the store and it was $400. I looked at another one like you have here and it was $50. I pulled out the old calculator on the iphone and came up with this. $400-$50 = $350 I could use for ice / by $1.32 for a 10 lb. bag where I buy it = 265 bags of ice x 10 lbs. per bag = 2,651 lbs. of ice I could buy. It was an easy decision after that. LoL!

now tally up the cost of longevity of the 50 dollar cooler bs the yeti and see how many 50's youd need for the lifetime of a yeti :p
