Well, after going to a couple of gun shows and looking over tons of options, I picked up this Bushmaster XM-15 E2S from a fellow THF member and am really excited to take it pig hunting this weekend. It came with a Magpul CTR stock, heavy barrel, clone Eotech holo sight and I've already added a Blackhawk foregrip to it. Not sure how well the sight will zero in, but I'll use iron sights if I have to. All in all, I'd say a pretty good deal for $600.

Find some 60 or 62 gr soft points, be safe and have fun.

Thanks! Also came with two 30 rd mags full of ammo. I was confused about sighting in at 50/200 battlefield zero. Any advice or experience here? I noticed that my holo sight is well above the iron sights, but when I aim through my iron sights, the dot lines up with them. Is that correct? How should I sight it in properly?

It's just a 50y zero, should work itself out pretty easy with that setup. The 200y part is dependent on the specific ammo your choosing and the actual fps your getting. Point of impact will shift a little at 50y (lot at 200y) too as you change ammo. I think on your 16" barrel that 55gr 5.56 will get you those approximate numbers. But I do not recommend you use that on hogs for an ethical kill. I'd use the 60-65 gr soft points. You will get more like 50/175 which is fine.
I'd go about .5 high at 50, and not shoot past 200. It's not easy to get small groups at 50y with an eotech though, well not for me.

It's really not easy to get good groups with an EOTech clone. There's a reason the real ones cost $400+ new, and it's because it's not cheap to make a good one that works and holds zero. Buddy at work had a clone and I had the real deal and they were night and day.
I couldn't get good groups at 100 yards with the EOTech with no magnifier, but I did pretty well at 50 yards. Could do 1" all day long with some of my better groups under that. Of course, this was with a Rock River that had a killer trigger and excellent barrel with good ammo. All ARs are not the same, and I don't know what the trigger and barrel on your model are like.
If i had it all to do over again with my AR-15, I would've just gotten a scope to put on it. 1-4x would be ideal. A 3-9x or 2-7x would work too. Cost less than an EOTech and you'll get better groups. But shooting with the EOTech was a blast. Just depends on what you're going to use it for.
All in all, at $600 you did really well.

Yes that is called lower 1/3 co-witness. while aiming through the holo sight the iron sights sit well below it, but aiming through the iron sights the dot will drop down and line up. I prefer absolute co-witness, but I also run flip up sights so when I don't need them they stay down out of the way.
