Hello I'm new to the Duck Hunting arena and have only been doing it for about two years although before moving to Texas I hunted Quail, Pheasant, and Dove growing up. Because of my job I am not going to be able to make it out early this Friday and was wondering your guy's opinion on showing up late to the field to hunt. Is it worth it to get there around 830 and jump the pond then set up or with the teal being few and far between have I missed the boat by that time. While scouting last week I found about 20 teal on this particular pond around 1000am.

If that's as early as you can make it I would still go.

It is far from ideal, but yeah, on private (where you won't be disturbing people who got there on time), go for it. Give you a chance to learn.

Life is short. Go hunting when you can.

Normally I would say to wait until Saturday morning and do it right, but since the cold front is moving through you better get em while you can.

Yeah just roll up with your gun loaded and smoke a few before you set up. Prob the majority of them will already be there by then I would think. But yeah x2 on featherduster better get em while they're still here.
