What a cool forum. I just found this site and am loving all the info here. I do have a question about SB 1742. I looked at an old thread on here that was old and devolved into rants between posters.
But has anyone been hunting within a city limits in Collin County without getting hammered by local PD? I live in Allen and work all over Collin County as a firearms/CHL instructor. I had a class last weekend where a couple of the guys were talking about hog hunting in far north Frisco.
I have friends that have larger tracts of land in eastern Collin County. Can I hunt hogs, deer, birds, etc there?
And yes, I have a hunting permit.
Thanks all! Love this forum, btw.

I'd call the particular city and ask 'em. "Some do, Some don't, Some will, Some won't". If it were me and I got an affirmative answer I'd get the persons name & title just in case....

Check with the local Police dept in the area of land you are going to hunt. Most places of land in collin county with in a city..not in a neighborhood..where there is lots of land hundreds of yards from home to home..you can hunt with a bow..BUT,check with that police dept first and let them know what you are doing and using to hunt with and you will have all your answers and problems solved.. Some land in collin county are structured the same as an incorporated or unincorporated city areas..check with collin county so and they will be glad to give you answers to your questions for county as well.In the state of Texas,,if YOU own the land in the city and the land is 10 achers or more fenced..YOU and your imediate family and friends with written consent letter..can hunt with shotgun for bird and archery for hogs/deer if in season- legally..If you do not own the land..you can not hunt unless you have on your person a written letter of consent by owner with owner name, address ,phone numbers to contact and signature of land owner for each day you will be hunting on said property ..always check first with your local law enforcement office /department-- FIRST.
