Looking for some suggestions on beginner duck calls. Something good quality and that will last me a while. Thanks!

Edit: I currently have a whistle I'm working with. Looking for something to work with quacks and chuckles on

Yeah, definitely. Anything that comes preloaded with mojo is always good

I had my eye on that one, but wasn't sure about its ease of use

Hunter, I would suggest a Haydels DRS-88 Cajun Squealer. Its a double reed call that is very forgiving and reasonably priced.

Buck Gardner double nasty. It's $20 and it's one of the best sounding calls in my opinion. Really easy to learn on too

I learned on the double nasty also. That's a great beginner call for really cheap.

The Daisy Cutter is amazing and absolutely my favorite call... But it is not a good call for a beginner because it is one if the more difficult calls on the market to run.

Quackhead J Frame or Double J are good inexpensive calls to learn on and you can usually find them paired w/ a cd.

For 80 bucks a daisy cutter would be well worth it to see if you can drive it. If nothing else there is always somebody that would buy it off you,.

A daisy cutter is not a beginners call at all.

One of mine. Short barrel, double reed, easy to blow...

You should go somewhere and blow several calls until you find something you are comfortable with. Everyone is different. Calling is more about confidence than anything. Be comfortable with what you use. I use RNT calls because of there service. As kdub said the Daisy Cutter is not for beginners.

Saying to get a cheap double reed call is the same a telling someone to not call and use a whistle. Get a single reed and learn to call. You waste time by learning on a double reed then thinking you can just switch with ease. Get the rnt cd which is great learner cd and start calling now. By season beginning you will have it down to the basics. Use your phone and record yourself this will help you.

I bought double reeds when I started and realized I wasted enough money to get a decent single reed. If you want to cheap then get a wood/poly single reed.

Wondering how this would do for a first call. It says entry level, but I figured I'd get some opinions from y'all

What's with the hate of double reeds!!! If you are just going to call ducks and not enter meat calling contest or main street arkansas contest then run a double reed. Almost all of my hunting calls are double reeds
.double reeds are more ducky then single reeds, run softer and hold their duck better when staying low on the call... A quality call that is easy to run would be like lynch mob strangle hold, echo diamond wood, Zink ph2. Field proven double shot, just to name a few. Do not be brand bias, many good call makers out there.
