I picked this up last fall and it has been fun at the range. It's a converted Saiga, and it is the smoothest AK I've had hands on. It's accurate, reliable, and pretty cheap to shoot.

The thing is that I just picked up an LR308 and don't really know if I have a need for the ol' AK anymore. I can reload .308 for close to the cost of 7.62s39 TulAmmo. I'm just trying to figure out what the niche is the AK fills now that I have the 7.62x51...

Hold on to the AK.

Call it a gut feeling, but something tells me it's just going to increase in value within the next few years. I would put it away and wait.

But, that's just me.

My wife just said the same thing. Maybe I should be looking for another Saiga .308 to convert rifle

Do you need to sell it? If no keep it. Can you sell it and get something better, if no keep it. Does it take up too much space? So what keep it.

I was tempted to sell mine but afraid I'll regret it down the road. One thing to think about....the last ammo shortage 7.62x39 was fairly easy to find.

Sell it only if it is to fund another firearm project. I sold an SKS, I never shot, to buy a cut rifled barrel for the 7 Rem Mag project.

Some people put their money into something tangible like gold and silver. Other people put their money into something tangible like firearms/ ammo/ loading components. I bet the more stable market is the latter of the two. And I don't own any gold.

If I could only have 1 hi-cap rifle, it would be the AK hands down. Hold on to it.

If I were to sell it, the money would just go back into another firearm or reloading components. OTOH, I don't have a need to get rid of it. I just don't shoot it much. I do have a couple thousand rounds of FMJ saved up for it though.

I would like to consider getting another Saiga .308 and converting it. I had a 22" conversion that was slick, but the long barrel made it a PITA for carrying around. I might see if I can find a 16" this time. However, they are getting a bit harder to spot.

I've made the decision to never sell or trade off one of my guns again, unless I get at least one other gun in replacement. Sadly, this decision comes about 10-15 years late, I should have implemented this much earlier.

Per the 7.62x39 rd, it not only was easier to find during this past 8 month silliness, but it is also the ammo the seems to have returned quickest to reasonable pricing....

I buy and sell a gun or two a year. If you have a need for it, keep it. If not, sell it and don't worry about it. Problem is that everyone who really wanted a gun like that already paid top dollar in the last year, so prices are way down.
