so I am getting a new rifle built and can't decide what caliber I want. Mainly I will be hunting whitetail, coyote, and maybe some hogs.

I have a stiller tac 30 AW s/a action with 308 bolt face, manners t5a, detach mag.

I was wanting to keep the bullet size under 30 caliber and have been thinking either 6.5 Creedmoor or 260 Remington. I know these two calibers are almost ballistic twins and I reload so the avalibility of ammunition is not a big deal. this will be my one and only non Magnum caliber rifle.
that being said if I do not like the rifle or caliber which one would be easier to sale?
I am also open to other caliber suggestions

I'd just go .243 for what you listed

You're original plan of a 6.5 is the best one. It is a better performer than a 243 in all ways. You're right that they are ballistic twins. The 6.5 Creedmore would be easier to sell than a 260, since there is very high quality "off the shelf" ammo available for the 6.5 Creed. The 260, not so much. I run a 260 and will never be without it, but I load all my ammo, so I don't care about off the shelf ammo or reselling the rifle.

I was making a similar decision recently and wound up going 7mm-08.

My second choice would be 7-08

Another good call! Damn good cartridge!

I don't own one, but I know it to be true.

For what it's worth, I did have a much harder time finding a 7mm bartlein barrel in stock than I did in 6mm or 6.5. Mine came from Southern Precision (bugholes.com).

The .260 and 6.5 Creedmore are good, but the 6.5x284 has more horsepower. Might even have a look at the 6.5-06, brass would be easier to come by.

He already has the Short Action.

I recently had this decision and went Creedmoor. I went with this decision at the guidance of the gunsmith. I don't think you could go wrong with any.

7mm all the way, I'm a bit biased though.

I think you are right on the money with your original two calibers. A 7mm-08 would be another nice alternative.

Thank you for the insight. I think I have choosen the 6.5 creedmoor. Mainly due to the other calibers I have in my stable (including a 7-08 I like this one a lot). I will post pictures when it is done.

Thanks again

Good call !

Now you need brass, CCI 200's, about 43.0 gr of H-4350, and 140 gr Hornady A-maxes. It'll be reliable past 1k and will kill just about anything.
