Yeah this dove season has been fun and all but the real deal starts Saturday. I was just talking to Ishootspoonies and he said he has his teal tags ready to go.
Reports from the area I'll be hunting said we had thousands of birds last weekend and early this week and now we just have hundreds. Hopefully more will come in but as long as we see some I'm happy.

What area are you hunting in? I was just north of Cisco opening weekend of dove season and already had Teal on the lakes.

It's duck hunting. In fact with the spoonies that like to mix in one could even argue that teal hunting requires a bit more expertise and discipline then big duck when you can shoot trash birds like mallards.

It does not take much discipline to pick out teal from trash ducks. Teal is one of the easiest to id.
Some prefer ground checking

Of course I've never done it but I've seen some very experienced guys call shots only to be embarrassed when they figured out they were actually spoonies. Opps. This is only for examples sake...I never seen that happen in my life...the guys I hunt with can ID a duck from 2 miles away blindfolded with ear plugs in. True story.
