My oldest daughter (9) will be going back to the lease with me tonight for the weekend and following along will be my middle aged daughter (7) This will be her first hunt ever and have been trying since last year to get her to go. She finally came up to me on her own last night asking if she could come along and I hopped on that like a chicken on a hopper! I have always been in hopes that light might turn on and I think that it did. I got 19 last Sun/Mon and I hope that this hunt, my girls realize that we are doing much more than just huntin'. I want to take Trigger my lab, but I am afraid that this being her first hunt it may be too " Busy" for her to pay attention. Not sure. My 9 yr.old went hunting from bird to end of rifle last year and this year I believe she will get behind my .243 that I shot when I was her age. This weekend will be the best so far and everyone is so excited. Good luck this weekend yall!!!!

Good times that you and your daughter will always remember. Have fun and they will have fun.

I had this bird mounted and the hunt is still something they talk about to this day. That was 6 years ago.

My 2 year old has been asking since April about going duck hunting. I'm pumped. She wants me to make her a "pink gun" so I'm going by Home Depot tonight for a dowel rod.

My girls missed bird huntin this weekend while they took there hunter safety coarse and passed the youngest scored a 98. beat her sister which scored a 96 and she won't let her forget for a long while. When they get home from school tday strait into camo and in the front yard to make up for missing this past weekend and give the .410s a work out. My girls are as addicted to fishing and hunting as I am it's turned to an obsession.

7 dove is good and better than a lot of people did over the weekend. Congrats to y'all!

Thanks y'all. We shot the Turdles because there are so many of them. We used to pull massive black bass from our stock tanks and now we have small fish. I figured the turtles were over populated and it was good fun for the girls. My youngest begged me to let her shoot my 1100 12 ga. I thought she would balk after hammering out some 45's but didn't. handled that ole' Remmy like a champ..... she's only 7 I wish I could post photos of my two trophies not sure how to. But for my youngest's first hunt, she's ready to go back. My oldest is a sure bet any time I jingle those keys.
