I have a Winnie 120 that won't seat completely when racking a round. It seems that the bolt has "expanded" and won't seat into the barrel. The guy I got the gun from said he had shot it with "duck" shells and thinks they were too "hot" for the gun. Any suggestions? I'm tempted to buy a new bolt but haven't had much luck finding one on the net. Thanks, Darren

Darren are you saying that the action will not close completely ? If so, is there any stroke left in the action bar/bars ? (Does the forend have any stroke left when closing?) I would check to ensure that the action bar/bars are not binding...I would also check to make sure that something is not stuck in the barrel at the forcing cone that might be preventing the bolt from "bottoming out" before the full stroke is completed with a chambered shell or at the headspace counter bore without a chambered shell...Darren you might also check to see if the extractor is binding against the inside of the receiver...

Are you trying to chamber 3" shells in a 2-3/4" chamber? Just a thought.
Edited to add: Not trying to insult or anything, and I know you've checked, but I take nothing for granted.

Lol, no, not THIS time. Thanks for the response. I just threw that out there 'cause it's something I've done before. Hope you figure it out. Let us know what it was, please.
