I would imagine its safe, but will not pattern well

I don't think the 45Colt part would be safe in most shotguns, unless it was rat shot or something. IDK.

They've been around since at least the 1960's. Have never heard of anyone being injured from using them. Accuracy is probably another subject altogether with them.
