My plan had been to buy the basic tt when blue came home but just realized gun dog supply doesn't sell them anymore. Any reviews?

My associate used one all last season and continues to do so. He claims to like it, altho he admits that it is not quite as handy as a training collar as it is a hunting collar. I remain skeptical of any e-collar not featuring a separate button for each dog I may want to control. I normally have two pointing dogs and a spaniel on the ground at any given time, and fumbling with switches, or thru menus to get to the dog needing correcting is NOT the way to deliver a timely correction.
However, that said, for the guy with one dog, the Garmin Alpha system would seem to be the very berries!

Thanks for the info. I only have one dog so it may be good for me. Any others I should look at?

Sorry, I guess I didn't read your post throroughly enough.
Garmin and Tri-tronics both have always had their stuff together. You can be confident that your purchase is a quality product

a friend of mine just got one and it seems to be a fairly nice system. for $200 it will be better than a sport dog or other lower end brands of collar that you could get for nearly the same amount. I have always been a fan of tri-tronics and garmin just put their name on tri-tronics technology with the delta system. my buddy used his this past weekend dove hunting and he will really put it to the test this next week when we are in Michigan chasing Canada geese. I use a tri-tronics flyway g3 and I love it but this collar is +- $450 but I did use and function his delta and I would give it a good review.

I don't use one but some of the features I'm not a fan of. I do know it's a quality product if TT is behind it. Interested to see what those of you have to say about it. Meanwhile I bought an extra Sport Basic while I could get them. It's my favorite collar for hunting.

Tried a clients while training and it was ok..I took it off and put my TT on..You can't move the levels up or down fast enough without looking at the read out..The timing just was not fast enough..but it was the first time using it

Oh well, maybe they'll bring it back one day.

Its gonna take some getting used to.

Any thoughts ishootspoonies? We got ours and apparently it has three settings with 18 levels of stimulation per setting. I am not sure if we are doing it right thought because it takes being all the way up on about 15 for him to respond to it. My trainer was using the TT Basic and he kept it on 2 for Blue....

are you talking about the delta? It doesnt have 3 levels of stimulation. the colors are for 3 different dogs. I ran mine on 11 while we were hunting most of the time. less when training, and more if she was being stubborn. I like the collar, no complaints.
maybe your battery was low, or it wasnt tight enough or something???? Or maybe you were using momentary (one shock) vs continuous? 15 seems pretty high. I shocked myself on on 3 and it hurt.
