I just finished my first two Damascus knives. I tried out a couple different guard styles and handle contours. One knife is Alabama Damascus "Redneck Skin" with stabilized mesquite burl, g10 spacers, and a stainless guard, OAL 9 inches. The other is a piece of twist that I picked up from another maker, with a stainless/copper/stainless guard and stabilized juniper burl, OAL 8.5 inches.

Very nice! All the knives you've made and just now trying damascus? You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

Where did you get that Juniper? I like that.

Beautiful workmanship. Both very nice, but personal preference, I like the lower profile the best. Would be an asset to any collection. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Jason those look like works of art. Very nice, and I would say some of the nicest knives I have seen on thf. The top one reminds me of a bayonet.

How many pigs do you think they could go through before needing to be resharpened?
