He'll be real nice if he's given another 2 or 3 years. Real nice!

3.5 Lookin real good. Would love to see what he looks like next year. So would I, but I am not sure if he will make it another year. I have been "buckless" the last two years. I shot an 8 in 2011, but only because he had been shot already. Each year I have passed on a deer just like this, and end up empty handed. I am not sure what it is, but the 3.5's leave my property the next year.

Probably because of neighbors. If your sure he's going to get shot then you may as well be the 1 to shoot him!

Probably because of neighbors. If your sure he's going to get shot then you may as well be the 1 to shoot him! I am pretty sure that is the reason. I can see trailcams go off right over the fence line in the morning at three of my stands. They probably shoot everything that walks.

Thats a nice young one! If you have an older cull buck, spike or doe you can shoot, take them. There's a saying; if you shoot a deer because your scared your neighbor will first, then you are your neighbor. Give him a chance to be special, pass it on so hopefully he will produce some more future shooter bucks! PS: I like the name High Rise Probably because of neighbors. It's easy to say let him walk unless you hunt in that type situation. I used to hunt on 300ac. Every day somebody would shoot something around me. When I'd go to the local processor it was evident they were going to shoot whatever they wanted. If he's a trophy to you, take him. Who cares what ANYBODY else says. Now I hunt on 20K acres. I now have the option to let them walk & will not shoot young deer no matter how big they are. I now have that option.
