Any Polaris EV owners ever had this problem:Control light on dash FLASHES RED when I plug it in to charge the batteries. Manual says to reset ny unplugging and waiting before plugging back in. Didn't work. Anybody know of a work around instead of taking to dealer. It's a 2011 with only about 60 hrs on it, so I am pretty sure the batteries are still good, but I can't charge them. It's dead in the driveway.

Completely discharged batteries could be the problem. Is there a reset on the charger ? Batteries have plenty of water ?. If it has 6 or 12 volt batteries you can charge them one at a time with the correct voltage charger. I have never seen an 8 volt charger. FYI, you should keep the charger plugged in any time the cart is not in use. Running batteries all the way down kills battery life.

On Polaris GEM cars(which is a street legal golf cart basically) if the total voltage is less than 72 volts, the internal charger will not kick on. You have to manually charge up each battery to 12 volts then plug in the charger. They have 6 batteries. Not sure if this is the problem or not but I would try first.
