Well I heard a rumor that there were wild hogs in the White Rock Lake area. Can anyone confirm that for me? I was curious because I know they legalized bow hunting in Dallas County but I don't think I could hunt there.

Might very well be legal.. I've seen several ladder stands around the Katy Trail..

The DMN said the city council had authorized an enormous amount of money (1/4 million) for a "professional trapper" to remove them.

Some lucky SOB just secured his retirement.

They should have posted here. There are plenty of "professional trappers" who would beat the socks off of that price.

Damned idiot elected "officials".

There was a picture of one supposedly taken at the corner of Lawther and Northwest Highway. I live right by that area and have never seen any. However, there is no shortage of bobcats, foxes and yotes.

LOL, I grew up in Lake Highlands, actually right by LHJH. We used to bike around the WRL.

There have been pics of hogs coming out of the area for a while now. Here is some video from 2 years ago...

I live in Old Lake Highlands area. I have heard of coyotes. I have seen owls at Norbuck. I have heard the rumors of hogs. I thought they were reported to be south of the lake.

They are in limited areas north of the lake and god only knows what is in tent city south of the lake with the homeless down there. Go to a Corp of Engineers lake like Lavon where the hogs are more plentiful and easier to pattern.

I live right by LHJH. I have seen bobcats and coyotes but no hogs. At the corner of Church and Ferndale there are 2 yotes that lay out in the empty lot. With the new construction I havent seen them in a few weeks. I did have a coyote pup scamper down my back alley but by the time I went in to get my 22 (was going to use subsonic) he was nowhere to be found. My neighbors had pictures of a coyote walking down Estate in broad daylight.

Church and Ferndale, Mr. Jones? That used to be part of my old Times Herald paper route. It was District 10, Route 7. There used to be a big yellow house on the NW corner of the intersection. It looks like it is gone now (Google Earth image) and that part of the lot now has new houses on it, but the corner is still empty. They had the meanest shepherd. I hated collecting from those folks.

We live off of church and Fieldcrest and we see coyotes from time to time but if you go pretty late at night and shine your spotlights into the fields around flag pole hill you will catch a glimpse of a deer soon enough. I have only seen one spike though.

And by south end of the lake you mean the area where the creak meets the main lake right? off of mockingbird? When we went in the woods one day in that area to hunt squirrels down there we found a trail that was used by deer or hogs but we should have put a game cam on it.

Saw a pig last year. Took a pic of it. Could not believe it was there, right by lawther and the horse stables.

Those are my old stomping grounds, sorta. Grew up off Forest Hills Dr. and then in Lakewood off Tokalon Dr. White Rock Creek off St. Francis & the woods behind the spillway filled my summer days with fishing and all kinds of activities. Now, can't get my kid off C.O.D. long enough to do anything outside.

I cant stand playing C.O.D when I know there may be a squirrel running around or a bass to catch!

Yes. Down by the spillway. A small non-whitetail buck down by the spillway was killed 2 years ago. Before y'all freak, all measures were taken to have it captured and removed, but the zoo doesn't trap animals, Dallas animal control doesn't do deer, and TP&W doesn't do exotics. The order was given to stop the animal before it caused another wreck.
