I still can't believe the Wal-mart in Palestine is always out of ammo. It's strange. Ammo is back at many places I visit but my local Wal-mart sells out every morning. Someone of these hoarders didn't get the memo.

I have not seen bulk packs of 22lr anywhere. Let alone for under $40 like pre-crazy.

Wal Mart in Marble Falls rarely has anythng. Occasionally some 5.56 Winchester. IN DFW on biz this week, went to 5 WMs today and not a single box. 2 academys...Nothing. Where is this Academy under the rainbow you speak of Jasb ?

Went by the local Academy -

The one I still see people camped out in front of 4 mornings a week.

They had EVERYTHING.....Except .22

And they changed their policy - You are now limited to 2 boxes each of 9mm & .22 per day.

They had 1,000rnds+ each of 3 different kinds of 9mm; but not a single box of .22 to be found.

Some of the problem with Watmart is some of their stockers are short stopping the ammo, doubling the price and selling on the outside market, s

I went to academy this past weekend and it was the first time I didn't buy a box of ammo. They have everything you could need for a week now

I was lucky and picked up 6 large 325 count boxes of Federal Match, and 6 boxes of CCI mini-mags at the Academy in Pasadena off BW8. I know it isnt completely over....but it is getting better.

With that said, I know every one of ya' is planning on at least 1 full ammo box of .22 lr for storage...arent you?!

Well, I dont blame you 1 darn bit, and I wish you guys the best.

Happy hunting!!

It's hard to find primers, powder, 7mm-08 brass among others, and Hornady still have the manufacturing of bullets like the .284 162gr amax on hold. It may be over for now, but they haven't caught up yet either.

To top it off, prices are higher and remaining that way.

Sounds like the Military and a brag.

My West Point Graduate,2008, son, now a Capt. He just completed a two week shooting course conducted by the Army Marksmanship Unit (Google it) and the course was Close Quarter Marksmanship with rifle and pistol. Each participant shot 1,500 9mm rounds and 1,600 5.56 rounds. There were 30 other participants including 6 FBI members of the Counter Terrorism Fly Team out of DC attending. In the final tactical shooting competition where they are moving and shooting and switching between pistol and rifle seeing who could shoot most accurately and quickest my son on won the “ Top Shot” award beating the other participants.

Sounds like 93,000 rounds to me

The only credit I might be due is that I taught him against his mother’s wishes to shoot and love guns when he was knee high to a duck. He got his CHL at age 18 as active military. He is a shooting son of a gun.

Sorry for the brag and I am a pretty proud Papa.

I'd brag too.

Congrats to both of you. I hope his momma is proud as well.

Not quite over, but looking a heck of a lot better. I still can't find .22 in bulk, but I have about 600 rounds left, so I'm not in a panic about it yet. Yes, I've been to Academy, cabelas, and bass pro looking for them.

The new Gander Mtn. stores in Round Rock and Lewisville are well stocked on ALL ammo. I'm sure that it is due to them being new stores, but they have it now. I saw more ammo there than in BP, Cabelas and CTD combined!

I've posted this before, but I swing into my Walmart a couple of times per week on my way to work - in the morning. In the last 5-6 weeks, I've bought multiple bricks (325 to 555 rds) of .22lr at $0.03 to $0.035 per rd. Plus, they have had a BUNCH of bulk packs of 55gr 100 round Federal .223 at $0.34/rd.

It is hit or miss on any given day, but I have seen a LOT of .22/9mm/.40/.45 on the shelves - first thing in the morning - gone later. Yesterday morning they had a stack of Federal Auto Match in 325 round boxes, but I was there to get .44 mag to replace what I shot last weekend.

No, I don't resell. No, I'm not hoarding. I'm just gradually getting my normal stock back up to par after the long drought because I refused to buy even one round from a scalper. And I also refuse to wait in line to buy ammo.

Marc

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

I actually scored ONE box of Remington Core Lokt 150 grain .308 Win. at Wal Mart on my side of town three days ago.

I felt like I hit a hundred dollar scratch off.

hopefully the folks that buy 20.00
bulk .22 and resell at 79.00 will
get stuck with a lot of it. same
for other stuff. if everyone would
refuse to buy from the ammo scalpers,
the mess would settle a whole lot quicker.

There's ammo everywhere. Gander Mountain, Wally world, Cabela's.
If everybody would just keep calm and buy what they need there would be even more.
Just refuse to buy from flippers.
