Bout to bite the bullet and buy a new Polaris Ranger Crew Cab....cant decide on the 570 or the 800? Any suggestions out there? Also, I have heard a lot of people say you can go to Oklahoma and buy without tax, is this true? And how much would you save by doing this? Momentum Motorsports is right down the road by 15 miles in Mt. Pleasant and their prices seem great.
Sometimes I wonder if it will get to the point you bring an attorney with you out hunting.

I checked the rumor about no tax on atv's in Oklahoma and the dealership I spoke with said it was true "no tax". I did not ask any other questions. You will pay 8.25% at Momentum unless you are exempt. I too am looking but I have found better prices at Poffhauier(sp).

Rock powersports in Shreveport LA saved me over 2k on my last purchase. I have had a rzr 800 and a rzr 570 and the 570 is truly a better motor.
570 is a single cylinder motor that is easier to work on and parts are cheaper. Due to a better transmission the 570 has more torque and more usable power than the 800.

True- You don't pay sales tax if buying in another state.. But if you bring it to Texas and attempt to title it here in Texas, you'll pay the "use" form of the sales and use tax which for a vehicle will be 6.25%.
If you're financing it (through their financing or your bank), you'd be required to provide a valid title in your state of residence. That negates the no sales tax benefit, as you'll have to title it in Texas..
A little known fact: When you buy something online, and avoid paying sales tax by shipping it from another state; you're still liable for the state use tax portion of sales tax.. Which I believe is 6.75% (could be off a bit). This isn't enforced regularly. But it's the law..
Daniel Just Because... That's why.

DT is right but vehicle tax is 6.25%. Since its for off road you will have to pay 8.25%. Or whatever the tax rate is of that county.

Best bet is buy out of state, don't title it and save almost a $1,000 that you would otherwide give to the state of Texas Or find a rancher friend who will buy it for you on his tax exept status No need giving the government more of your hard earned money

As to what vehicle to buy, the 800 power plant and chassis has more cab room and has the power when you need it. You may not always use it but it is there. Also the 800 will hold its resale value better. The ranger 900 crew just came out so there may be a deal to be had on an 800 crew.

If you are wanting a work horse go with the 800. But, I would have to look at the 900 over the 800. I really like the way they moved the engine from under the seat to under the bed.
I have a 2002 Ranger 800 XP and that thing is a Hoss, super smooth riding and can go anywhere. I do like the 900 better though.

Going back to your question of where, I have been told Normangee Tractor has good prices on their products. Broadway Yamaha in Tyler won't work with you at all.

you will regret not getting the 800. I got mine at antlers polaris in ok. I had the add a hard roof and new wheels and tires. 12500 out the door which included the out of state title transfer. great people up there.

Buy the newest used one you can find (not from a dealer) and pay no tax. You only pay the title fees and are exempt from tax as "Off Road Use Only" I have a 2012 for sale in the classifieds!

Gave us a great deal.

I just bought a ranger 900 in OK for cash and paid no sales tax. The dealer even registered it with TX authorities. When I got the title in TX it cost me $60.
