That was actually from the T3 lite.

This is 5 from the big boy. Yes that's 5 holes. With factory ammo. Can't remember why I pulled one.

And here's a 3 shot group.

I can go on but this should cover it.

Real advice: they HATE to be cleaned.

My wife has one of the actual varmint models in 223.

We still have not stretched her out too far but me shooting has similar results, maybe not as good, as the ones posted above. Getting a 0.5" group of 5 shots @ 100yds is not uncommon. And anything above that I always feel like it's me and not the rifle.

Her T3 varmint is my first time I really shot a Tikka and I am totally in love with the whole system. Smoothest factory action I've seen and the trigger is fairly good, definitely 100x better than the x mark pro.
If I were in the market for another factory varmint rifle, then a T3 varmint will be very high on that list.

A friend has one and I have shot it a couple times. It will tear a ragged hole at 100 yds with multiple handloads and several different bullets. His is a 22-250. It is an actual Tikka Varmint rifle and those are getting hard to come by. Don't think they are selling them anymore if I'm not mistaken.

I was lucky enough to pick up a .223 Varmint last week....I haven't shot it yet though. I will say I was looking for a factory gun I could shoot in the factory class at our matches and I couldn't find a single negative about the .223 in 1:8 twist shooting 77's.

I'll try and get it out this weekend to start developing a load but not sure I'll make it.

My tikka varmint will shoot 1/2" groups and I have not had time to try different ammo yet

Judd,

the following is just my personal opinion, but to me the best money I spent was talley rings on ours. That's the only thing I changed and we've been super happy with the set up since.

Also, I've had great luck with 62 ammo.

Quick question about them being cleaned. Did you go through any break-in process when you first purchased yours or did you just start shooting? Some of the platforms I have shot htrough the years almost had to have a good break in and some (savage model 112) shot as good as my custom rifles after it had about 50 rounds down the barrel without being cleaned.

Thanks KR...I am a rail guy and my favorite rings are Burris Signature Zee (with the plastic inserts) so I don't have to lap them in. I have both already and ready to mount up.

I sure hope it shoots the 77's...I bought a 1000 Nosler custom competition bullets at Midway for 170 + shipping. IF they shoot that will be an awesome deal on bullets.

I'm not going to get into the break in thing. I do it as a formality but certainly don't do it hardcore.

Judd,
I understand the thought behind the 77gr and we got some but it just did not fair as well as the 62-65gr stuff. I would try a few in that range too. Let me know if you get a good formula for a 70+ gr load. I would like for her to at least have that in her arsenal.
