I know I'll get a BS flag, but my favorite call is a small sqeeky toy insert under my boot. I've brought in lots of coyotes and bobcats using these. I don't shoot bobcats, prefer to watch them instead. Coyotes die on sight. A bag of 12 inserts is like $7 on Amazon and one will last about a year.

I prefer open reeds, just more versatile. Although in the last year I admit to a fascination with diaphragm calls. Now the hard part is finding a good call maker, I'm just drawing a blank at the moment....LOL!

Heck I grew up putting a blade off grass between my hands and blowing across the grass like a reed!!! That was because I was to poor to afford a call. I killed 756 coyotes doing that!!! If you believe that ive got 1000 acres of ocean front property in Kansas for sale.....

When the situation is right, an open reed. For myself, much more gratifying to harvest and animal with a hand call.

I am hooked on diaphragms! I like the fact that you can give the same exact diaphragm to three different hunters and get three distinct different sounds! The ability to call without moving is another bonus I like! It takes a bit of patience to get the hang of them but it is worth the effort for me! I was lucky enough to win a diaphragm from Relentless game calls on their facebook page and that thing will sing!

I like the ease of the close red calls most of them you can just blow on them and they work ok. howler, got to have a open reed with a medium tone board with a small reed

Red River calls. By Aaron Glenn! His calls are amazing. The yella fella is great for beginners with multiple tones in one call. His handmade calls are beautiful and flawless. We have killed 100's of coyotes and bobcats in the last two years with his calls alone. In the past I carried 10 calls to cover the sounds I can now make with just two of red river's calls. We win competitions all over the state and will use nothing but Aaron Glenn's products.

There has never been a call that caused the death of as many coyotes as the modified Olt D2's and the Olt T20. There are still some being used that older than most people that hunt today.

I've worked with him for 7 years and just bought 3 of his calls this year, 22 yotes in 3 months thx to the yella fella. His calls are excellent.

I vote for open reed, preferably the ones made by Relentless Game Calls! My favorite is my TS predator calls open reed cowhorn tip or my TS predator calls production call.

Dogcatchers handmade jackrabbit distress call. It's worked for coyotes, foxes and bobcats. He's a great craftsman and makes a quality product.
