I am a volunteer editor at the Open Directory Project. I started the category for Texas hunting guides at http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Outdoors/...d_States/Texas/ at least ten years ago. The category had its own volunteer editor until a couple of years ago, so I quit editing much there until about a week ago. I noticed it hadn't been updated in a while. It had about 250 sites listed. I've been working on it for several days and now it has 500+ sites.

The category is for Texas hunting guides, outfitters, ranches that offer hunting, brokers, directories that list guides and leases, etc.

If you see any that are missing, please submit their website to the category. Each entity is supposed to get only one listing, so if you see any that have more than one of their sites listed please let me know. Also if you see any enity that is out of business please let me know.

Listing in the Open Directory is completely free. Don't ever pay anyone for a listing there. They are either breaking the rules if they are an editor or conning you out of money if they aren't.

Today I have been doing some cleanup on the Texas guides and outfitter category cleaning out dead sites and the sites for those that are obviously closed. I've also adde a few guides' sites that I found in forum signatures here

Cleaned up the category quite a bit. Now up to 600 sites or so. I am searching "east texas hunting" on google right now. Already searched south texas hunting. It is amazing how many more outfitters have web site than they did 5 or 10 years ago. It used to be struggle to find sites.

I don't know how many sites I'm going to find. The category has 768 sites as of this moment. I may need to alphabetize the category It's fun looking at all the hunts available in all parts of the state even though some of them are way out my price range and some seem to be shooting than hunting.

Also built up http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Outdoors/Guides_and_Outfitters/North_America/United_States/Texas/ which is for guides, outfitters and property that offer both hunting and fishing.
