I am having a hard time understanding the archery rules for this county. The question is, can I shoot a doe during archery season without a lamps or MLD permit?

Hmm, would be nice to know, TPWD updated the website for 2013-14 and it's not as clear as it used to be. I thought it was OK based on the older info, but I am new to hunting and not an expert. Hopefully somebody will chime in.
Adult late onset hunter. Why did I wait so long to get started?

Based on my reading of the regs, you can shoot a doe during archery season without MLD or LAMPS permits. However, if you land is on MLD, you are required to tag the doe with a MLD permit instead of your standard tag off your license. During rifle season you may not shoot a doe without a LAMPS or MLD permit no matter what weapon you use.
Having said that, shot placement is key and there is only one level of dead. Us east Texans can't afford turquoise and elk ivories for jewelry. So we use hog tushes and coon peckers.
