Outlaws in Waco on Lasalle. OMG......Please do not bother. The sause would be be more at home on spaghetti and the brisket looked and tasted like it had been boiled or baked before being exposed to any sort of smoke. There's not much good BBQ in Waco and this place just lowers the bar.

Michna's and Vitek's used to be good back in the day, but it's been years since I've eaten there. They used to hook us up. Some place called Tony DeMarias is supposed to be good too but I've never tried it.

I typically avoid anything on La Salle except the places on the circle.

I'm in Waco every day. Demarias and Jasper's are both good. I think demarias is run by kin of Jasper's. Haven't been to buzzard Billy's since they moved. I tried ordering a 1/2 order of something once for a side and they said they couldn't do it because most of their food comes pre-packaged. It's good pre-packaged food, though.

Back in the early 90's, my wife and I ate at Bill Miller's quite a bit. We could both eat there for under $10 at dinner, including drinks. It was ok, but was affordable. Couldn't eat at a good BBQ place on an E-2's paycheck!

I grew up in Oak Cliff. All we had was an Austins BBQ or Freds in Wynnewood. Underwoods on Westmoreland ave. Mom would make the trip to Underwoods just for the tater salad and Ribs. My first BBQ rib that I can remember came from there. Kids, they don't know any better, only what they're taught.

LOL, I posted on another forum several years back about an experience I had with Underwoods involving cramping, an armadillo hole, cut up tube socks, and the loss of deer hunting in that area for years afterwards...grin

BBQ is something best done at home. Hell you can eat steak out cheaper than BBQ in most places. If you must get it at a restaurant in Waco make it Demaria's. But you might wanna have your pistol handy.
