Where did you get that chair? Those are the best deer blind chairs I have ever used. I hunted a ranch that used them but no one there could remember the vendor.

Is this it? http://www.blynd.com/Products_Access.html

I bought all of the equipment when I acquired the lease. He's a friend of mine, so if that doesn't look right, I'll ask him.

Just talked with Jim. It's the one that I pointed you to. Made by the same company that manufactures "the blynd" (or however its spelled) plastic blinds.

I would suggest a better blind. Cry once and you won't be posting this stuff.

Too bad the blind is not on skids. I would say just hook up and tow away.

Not sure what you mean. I'm not a fan of these blinds either, but at 30 cents on the dollar for eight of them plus factoring in the effort, I found myself more grateful for what I had rather than what could be.

Thanks for your incredibly helpful insight. My intent was to ask for help for what I've got, not to point out what's wrong. That's pretty easy to figure out now.

I went to my blind a couple of weeks ago to find the windows out and it was taken over by a nesting buzzard. You could smell it walking up to it. It was 100 degrees outside and I was dry heaving trying to get the chairs out. Next time I am going to knock it over and drag it out to the burn pile.

I'm sure there's a story there!

I love the way that one is just shaking it's head and saying:

"no... this is MY blind now... you abandoned it... go find your own dam blind!!!"

"A seriously nocturnal bird, Barn Owls like to take cover by day in outbuildings or trees that they feel safe in (ie. old barns, old oak trees with cavities and evergreen trees) where they can hide during the day light hours. Removing these safe havens disturbs Barn Owls, so they simply move elsewhere."

From http://home.earthlink.net/~wildwingco/id8.html

If it is possible to get more light into the blind during the day it is possible they might be encouraged to move on more quickly....

Cool video - when Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.

IF you get 'em out and decide to keep that blind, you gotta put in those thicker plastic window inserts for the off season the last time you're there during deer season.

No, "the blynd" isn't a Cadillac, but I've always thought they're a decent value for what they are. Quick setup, you can even do by yourself if you have to. I own two of them and they last a heckuva lot longer than you think a plastic blind would, if you tie it down, keep it closed up as best you can, etc. They came out before anyone ever considered spending 2/3rds of a month's paycheck on something to hunt deer out of.

Thanks much!

They were still there when I checked Saturday, even after leaving the door open for a week. I'll see if I can get more light in there if they're still around this weekend. May be that they're not yet mature.

Good Lord that thing smells. Add to that there's a $100 chair up there marinating in that stuff.

Pretty sure I've got a large rubber mat under the mess. I'm hoping that this and a bunch of bleach water will save the blind once they've moved on.

This^

Had buzzards get in one several years ago...nasty!

Pretty sure breathing in all of that mess is harmful to your health. Would be really concerned about having the kids in there.

Lol better get em out. We had to tear down a tower stand bc the stench of crap was so bad. There were bones everywhere and a 1 foot tall pile of crap. They will keep coming back every year. The scary part is when they try to come in while you sitting in the stand.
