Heck no, I would buy him a beer. Me too. I haven't had a good shot at a big buck in few years (mostly because they weren't in bow range). I have always told guest of mine, if you see a mature legal buck take the shot.

I would be excited for the guest assuming everything was within the lease rules as stated.

I would be mad at myself for not hunting that stand. As long as it is off the leasers tags who cares. I take buddies out and say they can shoot does or a world record buck. Just don't shoot any buck....

You can tell a lot about a man by the way he reacts to a really big deer (that he didn't kill) being brought into camp. 'Separates the gentlemen from the trash.

I wouldn't be mad either, What is the point of inviting them if your only going to be mad they shot a better deer than you did.

I would tell the guest they have to get it mounted, take a mold of the antlers get a reproduction made and give me the originals, smile and say, "But seriously."
I wouldn't be mad though.

If the paid hunter wants to let his buddy kill the trophy, then so be it. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
Everybody has the same opportunity to hunt. No sense in getting mad or jealous over somebody else's good fortune. X2

Wouldn't bother me a bit. Who knows if anyone else would've ever even seen that deer and had the opportunity to harvest it. I'd drink a beer with him and celebrate someone bringing a good buck into camp.

I always enjoy it when someone kills a big deer. It sure doesn't have to be me for me to get a kick out of it. Texan, you and I think alike. I'd be happy for him.

Our lease has those rules. Wouldn't have a problem with it if a paying hunter gave his trophy to a buddy.

I usually tell our guests where the best areas are to hunt. I am happy with a couple of does.

Like many hunters here, I enjoy seeing other folks taking nice deer. I like seeing my kids or myself take a nice deer but I would have to say last year while hunting in my blind with a pal a nice 150 + strolled out in front of us running doe in late Novemeber. I had done shot my big buck of the year and had let him hunt with me all weekend. He began to put his gun out the window when I insisted to let him walk. Call me rude, but the guy was hunting off of my treat and that was one of the biggest deer we had seen in years. Following this hunt later in the year I had found this buck on cameras at three different sites across 3200 acres. The best thing is that he was a regular after season last year and I imagine he's in the line up for this year.

I've been the guest in that situation, several times- and choose not to shoot he buck. Guess that's why they always invite me back. But if you don't like the rules and can't get'em changed- get off the lease.

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

It would depend on the lease member. If he was someone who busted his tail to maintain the lease and not one of those who just shows up to hunt, it wouldn't bother me in the least.

It's just a deer why would you get angry or jealous. I'm happy when anyone kills a nice buck. I would rather see someone who has never killed a good deer get one than kill it myself.

How many neighbors know about him? i know the 3 guys that hunt 15 acres north of me do and one that has 60 acres south of me, the others may know but i dont talk to them. i should have taken a picture last season when i found a metal folding chair with a burlap camo curtain strung up around it literally 15 yards from my north fence, FACING THE FENCE! if i wasnt still after the big one at the time i would have had my pop up sitting right in front of him. another guy on 5 acres next to them has a tree stand about 10 yards inside the fenceline facing the fence but i have never seen anyone over there and its been there a while.
