We used to run monarchs and then switched to American hunters because they were so reasonable and simple. I found a receipt from one of the first American hunters I ever bought...... It was 19.99 on sale lol... The reason I am considering the boss buck is cause I looked up American hunters and they now are 69$ and the boss buck is only a little more and looks way better than that plastic and comes with dolor panel and battery....

They were nice but if I remember correctly we bought 3 or 4 of them and I think withing the first couple years had to replace a timer or motor on most of them..... All I know is I don't have any of them anymore and that go around I don't think we hunted them more than 4 or 5 years and we had some issues

Got the spin motor for a boss buck feeder this year, has been running well without any issues so far.
I will say, if you have the boss buck feeder, the varmint cage is dang near inpenetrable! It is big and wide, but keeps the coons off the spinner. Their smaller varmint cage for barrel feeders may not work as well, but I am very pleased with my boss buck feeder and motor. I also have a cabelas branded 200lb feeder...varmint cage doesn't keep coons off, but feeder and motor have been good.

we are using two of the timers with the better spinner. Have been working great so far. I like that with two bolts I can change the feeder to gravity or switch between the four feeders I have.

We have run 11 of them for years on our lease with the only problem every being that sometimes the buttons don't push. Wrap your new digital timer in saran wrap or put it in a small ziplock back to keep the dust out and they will work for years.

It is obvious years ago the boss buck was made better. I had one but it also had some problems as well as a friend had problems to. Their CS was good but that doesn't help when you drive 325 miles to find your timer not working. In the last couple years it seems the exterior quality had gone further down hill and the timer are consistent with any other Chinese timer. This is about the time they hit the box stores. I would seek another brand

I have just a digital timer that I adapted to an old photocell Remington feeder unit. I bought it from another member about five years ago and it's been in operation continuously since I got it. It has never let me down unless the batteries were low. That is my only complaint, no battery meter. This is the one that I have: http://www.trainerhalesupply.com/htdocs/BossBuck/DigitalTimer.htmFWIW, I wish I had a bunch of them for future feeder builds.

I got my electronic timer from Boss buck this spring. It is easy to use, is the same timer that came in my cabelas branded feeder, just branded and color coded for Boss buck.
The spinner hasn't failed me so far, but like I said it has only been since spring.

What they didn't tell me was that it won't take your "regular" 12v battery, but the "smaller" version, which is hard to find around here. So, we used 6v instead. Had just enough spin to spit some corn out, right under the timer. I also bought a All Season timer in 12v. It put that Boss Buck to shame, even after I installed the small 12v battery. Just beware, it you get a All Season timer, that thang will put an eye out!!!

My Boss Buck is a 12V and fit a 12V battery just fine. I have it set on the lowest spinner setting as it will sling corn out probably 30-40 feet on the high setting and 25-30 on medium. Even on low setting it slings corn out a good 15 feet. My feed pen isn't big enough for high or medium.
