I need a cheap knock around scope for a 7.62X39 AR-15. I built the gun to run cheap russian ammo so economy is the theme. I was wondering what happens to a 32mm objective at last light and more specifically how the weaver kaspa stacks up. I checked one out inside academy and it was fairly decent under ambient lighting. I have tried a few economy 1-6X24 at last light and they give up 5 minutes of daylight as compared to a nikon 40mm objective. I want the illuminated reticle as this gun will serve as a backup rifle or brother-in-law loaner

I was trying to buy one of these off a guy on craigslist... he flaked so I can't speak to the scope other than to say I am building a similar ar and also looked at it. May just give up and get a 2-7 since that range is so much cheaper

try center point from academy, 1-4x20. It is $80 at Academy, illuminated reticle dot and circle over it. Two colors. includes mount. So far works well on AK, holds zero. would be nice to have better zoom, but for the price cannot complain.

For 99.99, Natchez is selling Weaver Nitrex TR One scopes. 3-9x42. These are much better than Kaspas. I was going to do the same and found these. They are 319.99 retail! Much better lenses, same as Grand Slams, and lifetime warranty. Check it out.

i rolled the dice and ordered a Kaspa 1.5-6X32. I tried a Firefield FFP 1-6X24 for a few weeks and it was a C- scope at best so this should be an upgrade. Kaspa seems decent for the $$ so I will report back.

Scope came today and I mounted it. Scope is clear with little distortion, decent quality like a pro staff or vx-1. The ballistics plex reticle seems a tad faux tactical and enough to confuse a young shooter but usable. The illumination is just the center which is a plus. There was a slight red halo effect after dark around edges of lenses if you looked off center but not a deal breaker. Low light visibility was good. Turrets are good, haven't had a chance to see how it tracks. For $200 I am satisfied.
