for the new owners of our old wetlands property. Several plantings have resulted in lots of groceries, newly installed pit blinds are well covered in Egyptian Wheat, and the installation of a 2nd well with pumps and piping should assure lots of water as needed when few others in the area have much.

Beautiful land! I hope to own a spread like that one day. God willing I suppose.

Cappy,

I know I see some millet in those photos but what else do you plant. You probably have had to answer these questions all the time. Have you ever tried to plant smartweed? And if you have do you broadcast or drill it?

Japanese and brown top millet, buckwheat, Egyptian Wheat, Smartweed and WGF Sorghum. Many are virtually perennials as they reseed their self year after year.

Correct. Plus Fred at Honey Grove Grain will bring whatever you need in for you at a minimal mark-up if you order early and he can include it with a regular stock order.

Much of our smart weed is volunteer, carrying over from prior seasons. Alas ... so is the water primrose which needs poisoning each summer.
