I placed an order from MidwayUSA this past week for some Lapua 260 brass and a new Berger reloading manual. I had planned to get it prepped on Friday so I could shoot it out of my new 260 today.

Unfortunately, the new default shipping option for Midway is a UPS/USPS combo, where UPS get it to the largest local city, then hands it off to the post office. I checked the tracking information today, and the package shows delivered as of Friday, but it wasn't delivered to me, and a check again today revealed it wasn't some kind of mistake that the local USPS person caught.

I've heard great things about Midway's customer service, and I've ordered thousands of dollars of stuff from them over the years, but I've never had to call them. Anyone had this happen or know how they'll react? The USPS won't let me file a claim for 14 business days, so I'm hoping Midway will help make this right.

All I know is, I'm frustrated as hell.

Thoughts?

No problems with midway ever. I am sure your package will be there soon. I have oordered stuff from other places that stayed in Hutchins fedex facility for days, or at the usps hub in shreveport. Very aggrevating! The worst is the ups guy, he never brings my packages to my house. He takes it the school where my wife works, or to my parents house.

Best thing to do is contact your local post office that delivers to your house. Explain to them that tracking shows it as delivered, but you don't have it. It's up to them to find out where it is.

USPS tracking is a joke. They shouldn't even bother as it engenders countless headaches for us as a business and for our customers.

Ordered 1,500rnds of 7.62x39 from them the day before Sandy Hook went down; UPS left a 70lbs box on my front porch labeled "Small Arms Muntions" ..... 5days after sandy hook

3hrs later I get home and it was gone- I lost ALOT of respect and confidence in both UPS and Midway after it took more than 2 months to get a refund!

This same thing happened to me when I ordered a scope from Midway a few months ago and looked at the tracking and said delivered and it wasn't at my place. Called post office and UPS and found out just what you said about the old switcharoo! Luckily the next day a friend of mine who lives 2 miles down the road from me on the next county road past my house found it on his front porch and he was expecting a Midway order and opened it and was surprised it wasn't what he had ordered! He looked at the shipping address and saw it was mine thank The Lord.

The not so funny part of the USPS joke is, they take a detail picture of every piece of mail sent. Its part of the national surveillance program, yet they can't tell you where a package is.

Never had a problem with Midway fixing a situation.

That is a scary way to handle shipping..
I like Midway but man, having two carriers doubles the chances for something to get screwed up.

I'm confused. It got shipped, said it was ammo, and was stolen from your porch? Or ups saw it was ammo and automatically returned it???? Maybe I'm not reading it right. confused2

I just got a package from midway. I spent the extra money to only have UPS touch it. It was worth it for my piece of mind. And USPS is horrible in the way they handle packages.

USPS can be frustrating. Try and file a claim on lost or damaged items. Even Priority Mail with Deliivery Confirmation and extra Insurance is no guarantee of delivery or coverage. I spent over $20 in postage for an under one pound to be delivered one state (La) away and in the end was out of pocket for the whole thing. Someone ended up with a nice watch.

I didn't think UPS and the USPS even liked each other. Odd they are in cahoots together

This happened to me in may and my package was lost or stolen. I ordered of 2k worth of stuff when they had a optics blow out. I called and Midway overnighted me what I ordered. They have excellent CS.

Thanks for the replies guys! I'm going to go down to the post office first thing on Monday and see if I can't get this straightened out. Based on what I find out there, I'll call MidwayUSA and see what they can offer.

I'm done with the "default" shipping option with Midway. I've always loved their service, and I don't really hold this against them (thats of course contingent on what CS is willing to do) but I know I'm not going to mess with that basic shipping crap again.

X1000

However, the delivery shown is usually when it's delivered to the USPS, not the final destination.

And we wonder why the USPS loses billions each year........

If you take the time to look at the typical person working for the post office nowadays, it's amazing it's not worse than it is. They have made the civil service test much easier evidently. I worry anytime I order something that is delivered by mail. I pay extra to get ground.

UPS "Delivered" the box to my front door and left it sitting there in plain view- and it was stolen.

I've had Many problems with USPS. I have had scopes, camera lenses, and nany other things left at the edge of my drive way because the mail lady was too lazy to pull in the driveway. Called the post office a couple of times to complain. Well then she would pull in the driveway and toss them out on the driveway, instead of at the edge of the road. My front door was maybe 60' from the road. The last time she did it, I can't remember what it was, but was left on the drive way in the rain. I tore them up over that one. Got a new mail lady after that.

USPS has three days to deliver the package after they tender the package. I would probably call Tuesday if not delivered.

Thats the thing, even on the USPS website it shows that it was delivered at 11:00AM on Friday morning. I was working from home all day and nobody came to my door (I have a view of the street/door from my office.

They either delivered it to the wrong address, or lost it I'm thinking.

Man this is crap; I called up Midway today and they told me to give USPS until next Monday to deliver it, if I didn't have it by then to call them back and see what they could do. Apparently I have to wait until they can file a claim with the USPS before they'll do anything.

Disregard; just got home and USPS had delivered it. I guess all is well that ends well, but it's unfortunate that Midway would have wanted someone to wait another week before doing anything to help their customer.

Word to the wise, don't ever use the "UPS Sure Post" option at MidwayUSA checkout. It's no bueno.

I can't even begin to express my frustration with the USPS.

Many times we order items that get shipped through FedEx or UPS but ultimately make it to my local post office for delivery to my doorstep. The problem is, my local USPS office refuses to deliver to us. We're on a US highway, not a dirt road! We have our posted number on the road, regulation size, yet no mail gets delivered. Our neighbors get packages. It's a joke. UPS and Fedex company vans deliver here all the time.

Wow. That says a lot about Midway!!!!
