I doubt being swept is why they don't allow it, that can happen with anything. Its probably the brass flying over to the other bay or rapid fire that makes them mad. This can easily be remedied with a netting like they have at Garland shooting range, it even incorporates a system that saves the brass in a bucket. That's ridiculous, must be owned by a FUD.
AR15 is far and away the most popular gun in America.
This is a newest reason I can add to my list of why I hate public ranges. Being popular doesnt mean the owners have common sense or a sense of decency when other shooters are around. If I want to play tactical tom and run 30 rounds off in 5 seconds, I am using a bay that is all mine so I dont interupt other shooters. If I am sighting in or load development, I am shooting at the bench and following the rules. I dont enjoy ranges where people dont have any regard for fellow shooters. I have been swept a few too many times to enjoy a public range.

Hey RWH24,I believe they are referring to no limit to the number of shots total or time on the range, not as in how many shots you can fire in a timeframe. Unless they have changed their policy there, they do not allow rapid fire and will come chat with you about it. They have had that guntagging thing forever, but the wristband is new to me. There were days where my sling had every color of band they offered since I had been there so many times.
Having said that, shot placement is key and there is only one level of dead. Us east Texans can't afford turquoise and elk ivories for jewelry. So we use hog tushes and coon peckers.

Interesting you pay per gun. So if you bring 4 guns it looks like its 4 fees It's pay per gun or shooter which ever is greater
I'm a terrible shot but I follow up with a grenade!

Best thing to compare it to is the bracelets you get at concerts, events, etc to say that you have paid or are over 21 etc. They just put a little tag on your trigger guard, sling, or scope that is colored and has Carter's Country on there to mark that you have paid to shoot that day and with that weapon. They do charge for each gun/shooter, so a few guns can be kinda expensive. Over time, if you don't take the tags off you can accumulate an assortment of colors.

WOW time to find a different range. What if I had a 700 in a chassis system? Would I have to go else were?

I have no problem paying more if it means having less chance catching a stray bullet from some guy trying to play army.
