Hogs tipping over feeders. CRAP! Have been told to lay down heavy hog wire around feeder legs so hogs can't root there but have also thought about a collar around each leg with sharp spikes so they poke at the heads of the damn hogs when they try to tip the feeders. Anyone ever try that?

We always use T-posts covered in mechanic grease to prevent coons and furry rats off.

Never had a hog tip a feeder that was supported by TPosts. Bears on the other hand can and will tear apart any 55 gallon feeder no matter what.

Call me. I'll come give you a hand with anchoring them down so the pigs can't tip them over then we can kill a few of them and that will definitely stop them from tipping them over.

Put a drain hole at ground level or just above it in each feeder leg. The legs are full of water from when it rains. Corn and dust gets in the leg tops also. All that sours and then seeps out thru the dirt plug in the bottom of each leg. Hogs root to get to the soured grain tipping your feeders over.

Why not just drive a T-post in the ground for each leg, deeply, and then wire the leg to the T-post. That seems to work great where I am. The hog wire on the ground will help, but the legs wired to T-posts keep cattle from tipping the feeder.

6ft T-post driven 3ft into the ground next to each feeder leg, wire T-post to feeder leg every 6inches, and forget about the hog wire.

Ive been lucky with just driving some rebar into the ground a couple of feet and throwing some bailing wire around them. Figured this out when I showed up at my place one day with both feeders on there side and town is an hour plus away so had to use what I had on location. Seems to be holding up decent so far.

They make t-posts all the way to 14' (hell, maybe longer). I promise you can get one driven deep enough.

You have educated hogs. You need to kill them. Time in stand.

Gunna try hog wire on the ground. Can't get there every week to cull them with lead. Owner wants the deer around.
