When prepared properly, rabbit is delicious. But, for the best results, there are some specific “rules” that you should follow. Of course everyone has their own set of recipes, but here are some basic, generic cooking methods that we have found successful and easy, and result in a wonderful meal. I like the crockpot/cream of mushroom soup idea. Going to give that one a try.

We have rabbits swarming my neighborhood. I find nests in my backyard all of time. Actually my Yorkie finds them. Anyway, I told my wife a couple of days ago that I am about to start shooting them with my bb gun. Looks like I might need to get the crock pot out!

Always been told not to eat summer rabbit due to rabbit fever. Tularemia only a potential problem while skinning.......at any season......suggest do not cut yourself while skinning, and wash hands very well afterward. Better yet to use rubber gloves.

I wouldn't eat one during the summer. Pull back The skin along the back--and you're going to See those worms about the size of a June bug. Kinda like people don't know most black bass Out of a stock tank have a ton of worms along Their spine.

I didn't know it was a seasonal thing ... we always skipped on jack rabbits due to those worms but never found one in a cottontail...

Kinda like people don't know most black bass Out of a stock tank have a ton of worms along Their spine. I may be wrong, it happens a lot. I understood that the worms or Warbles were caused by Bot flies. Tularemia, is a disease and not a parasite.
