We stayed two nights at Caprock Canyons State Park near Quitaque (Kitty-quay) in our travel trailer in July.

Unlike Palo Duro, you camp on the canyon rim at Caprock. It is very beautiful. We stayed in site #20 in the Honey Flat area. The bison were out roaming though we saw few deer.

Of course we made a visit to Turkey, Texas!!!

There was a prairie dog town right by the restrooms in the camping area.

We stayed at Caprock Canyons, Palo Duro, Balmorhea, Davis Mtns, and S Llano River State Parks on this trip. We had reservations at Pedernales falls but backed out after looking at the river access...(stayed at a private place in Fredericksburg instead.)

Thanks for sharing. That's one SP that I haven't been to yet and is definitely on my "to do" list.
