Well, I do really like the lease...640 acres and there are only three of us hunting it. There are a lot of hogs, and there are quite a few deer, turkeys too. But I must confess I'm a little disappointed so far because I have yet to see a single mature buck. The bucks I am seeing are all really young ones. It's still a lot of fun to have a place to hunt. Still have a little more work to do and then I'll be able to focus on a little hunting.
So how about you guys...are you seeing many mature bucks coming to your feeders?

My area has been through 2-3 years of absolute hell. I am just proud to see that we have as good a population of young bucks coming on as we do.

Man dont let it get to you. For the most part we dont start seeing mature bucks at our feeders until the end of oct. I worruy every year about it because all we get is young bucks. Last week or two of october is like a light switch turned on and they are all over the place. Just keep feeding and it will happen.

I've only seen one so far this year. That's normal for us though. Too much green stuff out there right now. Quite a few young deer, however. It should be a good season. Quite a few deer from last season didn't get shot. last year was an extremely poor season, generally speaking.

How much rain have you had? How green is the pasture? It will change, always does for us.

We see our mature deer year round on cams, for the most part they don't obviously look mature till they are wearing all their head gear. May be part of your issue.

I hope you didnt get the lease I got off of in Evant. But wait, we didnt see any deer last year. So you are god to be seeeing young deer.
Normally I think it takes older deer longer to find feeders. Like most old people, they are set in their ways and you just have to figure out their patterns. I normally never see a deer over 4.5 at a feeder anyway. Mostly younger ones and they may just pressure older ones away.

Try putting a camera outside the feed pen to see what may be walking around it.

try setting your feeder times for very first light and very last light. those big boys more likely to be nocturnal, especially this time of year. and if you have other less nocturnal creatures eating all the groceries after the big boys are down/before they are up, nothing to lure them into camera range.

in the last three months I've got only a handful of deer pics on my cam, and they were all at night. Went hog hunting over the weekend because they've been coming in like clockwork. Not 10 minutes after getting settled, a doe popped out and stayed off and on with another doe all night. Never once went to the feeder, grazed in the field.
Cams only tell a fraction of the story, and if you have it set up on your feeder, older bucks usually avoid them.
