I have been thinking about saleing or partial trading my 45/70 and buying a AR in a 300 or 308, or something around that caliber. It's a marlin 1895G 45/70 with a leupold vxr hog on it with leupold bases and rings, with maybe 50 rounds down the pipe. its about two years old. I know what I have in the set up, but don't really know what it's worth. Any ideas? Looking to get an idea before posting it in the classifieds for sale or trade.

Is it ported or non-ported? I had a ported model and I sold it in excellent condition with XS sights full lever rail, Burris quick detach Zee rings, and a Weaver 1-3x scope for about $950 not long ago. I have found that a lot of people don't care for the ported models. Good luck with your sale. You should be able to get around my number with the Leupold package.

It's the non ported model. I've got few boxes of ammo too so maybe that will add alittle bit. Thanks

I bet it would be worth more if you still had the box for the scope and you sold them separate.

Why don't you get it appraised at a gun shop? They will evaluate the condition of your gun and let you know about it worth.
