Sad day. Took my old compound up to On Target Archery to have it restrung and one of the guys there noticed a CRACK in my limb. Small, but still enough for him to advise me against shooting it much more. And considering I'm about to go off to college, I can't afford a new bow right now (or even used). Loved shooting my bow and never even got to stick something with it. Pretty pissed but I'll get over it (once I get a new bow in a few years). On the bright side, I did shoot three new bows. The Hoyt Charger, the Bowtech Assassin, and the PSE Drive. All three shot nice, but if I were to get a new bow right now I would buy the Charger. Very smooth, fast, accurate, and quiet. Im gonna strip my bow and sell the accessories. Any advice on what to do with the bow itself? Or just toss it in the garbage?

Sorry to hear sir. Study hard. Get good grades. Prayerfully you will have many years to shoot and hunt after school is done.

Sorry for the bad luck. I agree with passthru, Focus on school, there will be plenty of time to bow hunt later. Schools way more important at this point in your life.

Not sure to tell you what to do with the bow, but I know I dont want it bolt

yeah, focus on school, sell your accessories...DO NOT sell a broken bow to an individual.

Thanks guys, thats what I figure I'm gonna do for now. Might weep a couple days though. lol. And JGilbert, I wouldn't dare think of that. It would boil my blood if someone tried to sell me a broken bow so I won't do that to someone else.

Do the SMART thing

1. Take off accessories
2. Use tuition to buy new bow
3. Install accessories on new rig and get ready for bow season
4. Sell the split limb bow on Craigslist to an unsuspecting buyer to recover tuition

Just kidding here guys, I would NEVER put old accessories on a new bow.

I'd probably do that.

Got a charger three months ago and love it. Save your money and buy what you want when you can. Concentrate on school, it will pay off!!

Depending on the manufacturer and the age of the bow you might be able to send it to the manufacturer to have new limbs put on it for just the cost of shipping to the manufacturer. I'm pretty sure Darton would have replaced the limbs if the bow wasn't to old.

What's your Draw length? I might be able to hook you up with one of my backup bows...

It's too old a bow to have the manufacturer replace. 1999 model. And 1FowlHntR, thanks for the thought, but that's alright. I'll get me a bow eventually, but thank you. Very kind and thoughtful gesture.

It's a real nice gesture. But offer that bow to someone else who hasn't got to shoot a bow. I might not have a place to bow hunt this year or for the next few years anyhow so I would hate for it to be a waste. Thanks again!
