i'm not much of a turkey hunter. I need to get out and chase some pigs, been too busy the past two weeks

It ain't about turkey hunting its about bow hunting. My kid shot a turkey with his bow this weekend and had just as much fun shooting rabbits and squirrels. Any hunting with a bow makes you a better bow hunter so when you do go hunt whatever it is you prefer you'll be better at it.

It ain't about turkey hunting its about bow hunting. My kid shot a turkey with his bow this weekend and had just as much fun shooting rabbits and squirrels. Any hunting with a bow makes you a better bow hunter so when you do go hunt whatever it is you prefer you'll be better at it. Squirrel hunting with a bow is ridiculous fun!

It's hell on arras though. We killed five rabbits one hog one turkey and five squirrels all with bow last weekend and I think broke a dozen arras.

Breaking a dozen arrows in a weekend can get expensive, but worth it if you have a GREAT time and some meat in the freezer!

Me too! I picked up bowhunting last year and have had less than 10 sits in the stand so far. I want to stick something BAD!

Bow hunting is like crack. I don't even own a deer rifle anymore. I'm headed to Whitney for a birds and hopefully some piggies. I'll also second the squirrel and rabbit hunting. I used to lose more arrows than I ever broke, but adders and field points fixed that problem.

LOL. I appreciate the offer but I have a bunch of pigs to put some fear into and that will satisfy the blood lust for now. I know lots of bowhunters like to shoot them though.

I'm shooting more and more all the time. I can finally shoot my bow at 60lbs without pain. Now it's just a matter of strengthening and getting the muscle memory and form back. It's a little discouraging shooting five and six inch groups at 40 yards but hopefully it will come around. Right now it's 25 or 30 arrows per session. Hope to be double that before the end of August.
